When you play at an Organized Play table, the Game Master (GM) will ask you for your Organized Play ID, and your character number. The Organized Play ID is a number tied to you, the player, while the character number is tied to one of your characters.
Org Play ID Format
The format of the Organized Play ID looks like this:
1234567 – 2002
In the above: 1234567
is the organized play ID; for Pathfinder 2e (Second Edition), all character numbers start with 2
, then have a 3-digit number afterwards. In the above example, 2002
is the second character for Pathfinder 2e for the player associated with Org Play ID 1234567
.

Creating Characters on Paizo’s Website
Most GMs/tables do not use the Paizo website definition of your character for anything meaningful. Therefore, when you go to create an Org Play character on the Paizo website, you don’t need to fill out all the nitty-gritty details. The most important pieces of information will be:
- Character Name
- Character ID (such as 2002) – you will need this when signing up for or playing an Org Play game. NOTE: As of September 2024, Starfinder 2e Playtest characters do not have a Character ID.
- Faction – you will need to tell the GM at your table which of the Society factions you wish to receive reputation with for completing your mission. It is generally a good idea to specialize with a single faction, so you may want to pick one and stick with it for the lifetime of your character, or until their reputation is maxed.
Once you have a character created on the Paizo website, you’re ready to sign up for Org Play games at one of our lodges. Head to Character Creation for tips on how to create your character sheet!
